Amethyst is one of the rare purple-colored crystals in the crystal family. Its English name, "Amethystos", is derived from the meaning "not intoxicated".

- 1. During the formation process of natural amethyst, it is often affected by the environment and contains some impurities. When observed under the sun, you can see faint, uniform, and fine horizontal lines or fluffy substances. However, fake amethyst is usually made by melting residual crystal slag or glass slag and then processing and coloring it to imitate. It does not have uniform lines or fluffy substances.
- 2. Amethyst is a crystal and conducts heat quickly. If the crystal feels very cool when touched, but becomes warm when held in the palm of your hand and synchronizes with your body temperature, then it is a genuine crystal gemstone.
- 3. Natural amethyst has a double refractive index. Place the crystal on a hair strand or a white sheet with black lines. Through the amethyst, you will see the double images of the hair or the black lines. If there are none, it is a fake crystal. -
